Verstappen: "None of the laps I did this weekend felt good."

The Dutch pilot stated that the adjustments made did not produce the desired results and that the car could not reach the ideal balance.

"If we knew the reason, we would change it, but unfortunately we don't. We tried a lot of things, but they didn't work. The problem wasn't the lack of trying, it was the lack of finding something. We went into qualifying trying something new, but we couldn't find the right setup in some corners."

“It made it better in some places but harder in others, and that caused me to not be able to push fully,” he said.

Verstappen admitted that he lacked confidence in the car's performance from the first session. "I knew from the first lap of Q1 that this wasn't going to happen," he said. "Basically, nothing we tried really worked."

The Red Bull driver emphasized that he doesn't expect a major recovery in the race. "If you don't have the speed, there's no such thing as a recovery race. The guys in front of me need to retire so I can move forward."

"None of the laps I did this weekend felt good, the car never got into its rhythm, whether in short runs or long runs. I don't think this situation will suddenly improve tomorrow," he said.
